KIDS HELPING KIDS

Call to Action Quilts for Children provides comfy covers to children living with HIV/AIDS. All quilts made are sent to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for distribution. A division of my foundation, is "Kid's Helping Kid's." It's important for children to share the power of giving. By learning to quilt, children not only bring sunshine into the lives of millions of children, but they also learn the importance of math skills, such as estimating; working with fractions; multiplication as well as expression through creative art and fabric design; the value of colors, and an over all good feeling knowing that they contribute to the well being of another child just like them.

If you are local, and would like to have your kids get involved with kids helping kids, please email me to set up free sessions in your classroom, Girl Scouts, Campfire G&B, or other children's groups. If you are not local, but would like fabric for your group of children to work on quilts for the CTAQC, please email me as well.

Each class will be about 2 hours and will end when the quilt is completed (about 4-5 classes depending on the children). Another level of quilting can continue after that. After the quilt is made, each child will be able to take fabric home and make their own quilt block. I will limit the class size based on your "attention span" evaluation of the children. Also, I can do more than one age bracket. There willl be scissors, needles and pins involved. I have the materials and fabrics needed. Additional adult supervision with younger children maybe needed.
